Dr. Qing Zhang is a Project Assistant Professor at the Rekimoto Lab in the University of Tokyo’s Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies. Drawing on his unique background bridging fine arts and technology, his research is centered at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), wearable computing, and Human-AI co-creation. Dr. Zhang applies his interdisciplinary perspective, informed by an M.F.A. from the Tokyo University of the Arts and a Ph.D. in Media Design from Keio University, to develop novel interactive systems aimed at boosting skill acquisition, empowering artists with Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs), and creating 24/7 AI assistants.
